A.k.a. Dan Lee-Belt DJ Surreal
Surreal has followed the scene since day one. He started mixing in 1992 and rapidly progressed to playing out in 1993. He played at various places such as Oscars-Clacton Pier, Hyperbolic, Pure-X (Under 18's), Ipswich, Norwich, Lincoln, Colchester, Brighton, Cambridge, Isle of Wight, London to name but a few. Then in 1995 he started working at Rebellious Records in Bury St Edmuns. It was here that he met Digital who first gave him the buzz for making tunes. He then moved on to work in Express Records in Chelmsford where he started to gather his own studio together. He then settled in Cambridge where he finally based his studio. It wasn't long before DJ Rap was supporting Surreal on dubplate. He then signed to Hardleaders and set up his own record shop 'Underground Solution', which he ran for a year before deciding to close down the business to fully concentrate on producing.
