A.k.a. Damon Yates Cityspeak DJ Gaff Martian Man
Damon Yates, AKA martianMan, is a true student of the underground. He was there to witness the progression of hardcore to jungle; making and DJing electronic music since 1990. Immersed in everything from Detroit techno, house, funk, and experimental jazz – he has been steadily honing his craft over the years, pooling his influences into an instantly recognizable sound of his own. This dedication has certainly paid off, with releases on influential labels such as Scientific Wax, Eastern Promise, Logical Direction, Omni Music, & Monochrome. The man from Mars has even been called on for some prestigious remix duty for Gremlinz on the legendary Architecture Recordings, and has a massive back-catalogue of tunes on his Bandcamp page. He was finally given the vinyl treatment with a massive 12” landing on Rumbleton’s Stand Firm Hi-Fi and has now set up his own imprint martianMan Recordings in 2016 for more excursions on wax.
