Album 2009 on House Cafe Music label
Dance (Deep House)
This latest Album from DJ Ino, Kids on Boogie, represents Ino's growth as an artist both in the studio and personally. We listen to the dreamy beginnings of the album with songs like "Trip to Brooklyn" or "Snoochi Boochi" and we hear 2 pieces of music which can only be produced by Ino and long time friend and Cuban Jazz musician Sergio Delgado. In his very own way, Ino reminds us all that in 2009 dance music is far from dead. On this musical journey through the album we run into two of the most funkiest tracks called "Kids on Boogie" and "Superfunken" which are funky dance tracks that reflects his 70's and 80's influences (Stevie Wonder,'Angela Johnson and Incognito among others).Ino then recovers with the sound that defined him and made House Cafe Music big years ago. Ino's remix of "Mystery of Love" (Nickodemus, Engadered Species) marks an electric turning point in the album between the reflection of the past and projections of the future. "Outta Mind" is a fusion of funk and electronic dance floor music, making Kids on Boogie an album that is a remarkable mix of diverse styles. Ino has created an album that shows the evolution of the aforementioned influences, and taping into the undeniable soul of the New York musical warrior. "The Gods Must Be Crazy" could be described as an experiment of frequencies. Principally, the harmonic drive can be compared with some familiar chords and sounds, but this is not the case. Once fully immersed, this unique track brings us into a liquid world with highly modulated tones and frequencies that should make us seriously rethink about our concept of dance floor music and it's versatility. The truth is that Ino never starts or finishes his musical ventures the way we would expect it to be. So is the case with our final track on the LP "Dub Why?" Off the path we had started on with "Trip to Brooklyn ", "Dub Why?" is an unexpected turn through Ino's journey. Once again with the help of famed pianist Sergio Delgado, Ino dives into uncharted territory with his first Dubstep track ever made. Bold and ventures this unusual style for Ino, is met with beauty and promise with gorgeous melodic keys done up by Mr. Delgado
