A.k.a. Lhoie
Very funky Electro from DJ Lhoie! He may be a newbie in Techno, but music surely runs through this young man's veins. He hails from the Philippine Islands; son of renowned musician, he has been exposed to music production all his life. Never receiving formal music education, he taught himself to play many instruments, each day waking up, toyed with his drum set and played hours before breakfast. In the late 80's DJ LHOIE was all about making mix tapes; during the alternative 90's, he was a drummer for two underground Pinoy-rock bands. His music influences range from a wide variety of artists: from Eric B. & Rakim to Kraftwerk to Beastie Boys to Pantera. Go figure. For him, as long as it's "funky", "solid" & "groovin'", he'll be "bumpin' it". His music production was brought to a halt when he and his family moved to the USA. While trying to cope with his new life, he took the wrong path. Luckily he recovered and realized that through his LOVE for music, he was given a new lease on life. Music was innate, producing was second nature. This passion for music was rekindled one day as he went inside DJ Bone’s studio. With a little guidance, he learned and utilized Bone’s equipment and made ill beats. Not bad for an electronic music novice. A week later, his sister gave him a drum machine as a present and it was on: the fire started burning again. His style is fresh and his goal is to breed old style "funk" with today's technology. Watch out for DJ LHOIE!
