DJ Nasha sits in a space of his own, evolving his aura of originality from a nation of rich musical diversity and global electronic beats. Combining these flavorful ethnic roots with the infinite possibilities of the forever-evolving electronic music scene, Nasha has journeyed towards a creative window which looks out beyond the parameters of conventional musical frameworks. Recently advancing his BREED remix of Jalebee Cartel’s Mirrors to the top ten on the Beatport charts, Nasha is spiraling towards an unpredictable advent of dance-floor recognition representing his nation on the international music map. After 15 years in the DJ spotlight, Nasha has expanded his music and energetic performances across several nations. His 2005 international release of Flute Fantasy on Buddha Bar VII was a hit in India as well as in world music venues. He is also the only DJ from India to have won the World DMC Championships (India) twice in 1999 and 2000, travelling to NYC and London to represent his homeland. His collaborations with international artists have brought him to play at world-renowned venues, festivals, launch parties and movie premiers across the globe in buzzing cities like London, NYC, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Dubai, to name a few. His upcoming album features Indian classical artists such as Kailash Kher, Ustad Sultan Khan, Shankar Mahadevan, U Rajesh, and international artists like Juakali (DubWar, USA) and Inflowence (UK). Nasha’s bonus identity, BREED, which he reserves strictly for electronic expressions of heavy bass and genre-defying rhythms, symbolizes the emphasis for innovative varieties and unforeseen forms of new musical and dance manifestations. Nasha’s upcoming album titled Transition, is sure to shake speakers at home and abroad, as well as voyage through soulful ears and culturally-waxing minds, providing both upbeat dance tracks and hair-standing instrumental pieces. The album is an illustration of how humans and artists transit from diverse areas of interest and desire in life. This musical canvas provides a clear picture as to how Nasha’s personal and artistic transition has led him to unanticipated horizons in his music career. Maintaining a strong appreciation for his cultural roots and musical forefathers, we clearly find the balance between tradition and experimentation in his music. The gradual transition in DJ Nasha’s music career towards international contemporaries is emblematic of the human spirit’s ability to reach out to aspirations and creations beyond our own dreams which speak to our rhythmic soul. Maintain vigilance as we await the album which defies boundaries and rules and screams out from the psyche of this passionate musician. taken from http://djnasha.com/bio/
