1987, DO YOU REMEMBER ? To this question, Dj Reas could answer yes... Present since the beginnings of house music, behind the turntables or in the most popular vinyl shops of Western Switzerland, Reas has influenced several generations of local disc jockeys with his selections and his inspired performances. Fascinated by the beginnings of hip-hop, and before that by the funk and the rare grooves coming to house music, the Genevan is first and foremost a keen records collector and a dance music connoisseur. Nowadays vinyl shops are all closed and MP3 sounds have invaded clubs; but Reas, more than 20 years after, continues to reign over the land of Geneva. Behind his turntables, he embodies calm strength, quite simply, as the boss of Geneva house music. He knows how to hypnotize late evening crowds with improbable Michigan rhythms as well as to send the most power-hungry dancers to the seventh heaven. Probably armed with his famous showerhead headset, DJ Reas will rock the dancefloor with his afro-influenced beats injected with Italian flavoured trancey stabs.
