DJ Tony "Tee" Tolliver



A.k.a. Tony Tolliver

DJ Tony Tee's Career Spans a 30 Year Period. He Began DJing in 1981 as a Teenager in Amherst New York & is Still Spinning & Producing at Present! The DJ Tony Tolliver, AKA Tony Tee, was born in Amherst New York where he spent most of his teenage years. His musical influences were surrounded by heavy funk & rap music. In the late 70's towards the end of the Disco era and the beginning of the long playing maxi single days, Tony gathered his sister's records and took his skills to the public. Tony attended Texas Southern University in Houston Texas where he studied Telecommunications Radio & TV as a major. In 1981 he became the hottest DJ on the campus Radio Station KTSU and was the most sought after DJ for fraternal and campus functions. In 1984 Tony's professional radio career took off when the popular radio station KYOK offered him a lucrative contract as a Radio Personality and Mix Show Host. Two years later WBUS in Atlanta Georgia, offered Tony the job of Mix Show Host where he worked for six months before leaving to work with Atlanta's number one radio station WVEE V-103. Tony worked with V-103 for five years bringing the very best in Rap and R&B to his Mix Show "The Fresh Party". And after years of bargaining and persuasion, Tony began the instant hit dance show "The House Jam". This classic Garage, Tribal and Underground House Show provided Tony with more club work than he could handle. Opening for Artist such as Crystal Waters, Rupaul, Ultra Nate' and Jennifer Halloway. In 1989-90 Tony had "Original Tracks" published and released on the Chicago label "Nite Club Records". Tony was amongst other well known DJ's like Terry Hunter, DJ Pierre, Tony Humphries and "Four to the Floor" featured on the Compilation. In 1991 Tony remixed a track for Strictly Rhythm Records along with DJ Pierre for the group 27th Century. It was release in 1992 an set the stage for Tony's World travels. In 1992 Tony moved to Oslo Norway and immediately began the then popular radio mix show "On the Dance Tip" featured on Radio Oslo. The show aired for two years broadcasting live from Quincy Night Club in Oslo and to all of Europe during the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. In 1993 - 94 Tony brought a new twist to the Booming Oslo Rave Scene by introducing the American Tribal and Underground House Sound to a receptive audience who had been unfamiliar to the movement giving him the nickname Tee Twizzle for his music twist. The success of this sound gave him extracurricular employment from the Radio and Night Clubs. Tony has opened and played various clubs and venues in America, Norway, Sweden, Danmark, Spain, UK, France and other European countries with a high standard of professionalism which has made him welcome for future employment and re-bookings.
