A.k.a. Antonio Conte

Born in Lizzanello (Lecce province) in Apulia, DJ War is one the founding fathers of Italian hip hop. In the mid 1980s, he and Gopher D created a music group called Subnoise that consists of various styles, including rap and reggae. Around this time, he moved to Bologna to study and soon joined into the centri sociali scene, in particular the historic Isola mel Kantiere and it's all night jams known as the "Ghetto blaster." In the summer of 1987, DJ War and Militant P formed the nucleus of the group Sud Sound System. After a extremely creative period for the groups and the rap Italiano in general, DJ War left the band in 1994. DJ War increasingly began to explore "jungle" sound recently.
