This Dhrupad performance was recorded in Paris 1987 by the late Deben Bhattacharya (1921 - 2001), the internationally renowned musicologist. This album is being released as a special memorial concert - a tribute to Deben Bhattacharya under the auspices of and at the Bibliotheque Nationale de France. This is an archival recording and has some distortion at high registers on some occasions. Overall quality of the recording is good and represents a great example of the Dhrupad music tradition. Includes a ten page booklet with extensive liner notes.
