Influences: John Martyn, Tom Waits, Nick Cave Since the release of his first single, Sing me a lullaby, which featured on the Big Chill’s album, Busking for solaraid, Dan Sumner has released several EPs, and most recently (2017) his first album: "Storm On An Island" . He has also performed live extensively around the UK and Europe supporting the likes of Dave Swarbrick (Fairport Convention) and playing at festivals such as the Big Chill where he shared a stage with Robert Plant. He has also made several TV appearances including on Irish TV and on the AyalaShow and has performed at charity events such as Make Noise for Tibet. His music has become increasingly political in recent years, informed by his work with refugees and refugee charities. However, he is still very much grounded in the folk storytelling tradition and in the spirit of singer- songwriters such as Richard Thompson and John Martyn, who he grew up listening to alongside influences, such as 90s grunge and Nick Cave and Tom Waits. Having spent time living in Spain and South East Asia, Dan has recently settled back in the UK and will be touring nationally from autumn 2017.
