Danny Butler plays double bass in the Xylouris Ensemble, and also has a long history of playing electric bass and guitar in bands including The Hollowmen, The Ocean Stairs and, most recently Los Neutrinos. He studied at the University of Melbourne and at the late but great progressive music department at La Trobe. With an Honours degree in musical composition and musicology, he has diverse interests, ranging from Beethoven and Grainger through to rock and folk. He has sound designed several animated short films, and played on the One Night the Moon soundtrack.
