Composer of Classical
Daniel Bollius (also Daniel Pollius, around 1590 in Hechingen, † 1642 probably in Mainz) was a German composer of the early Baroque. He is one of early exponents of the new Italian style characterized by Claudio Monteverdi. His Repræsetatio on the conception and birth of St. John the Baptist has close ties with Rappresentatione by Emilio De' Cavalieri and is considered the first ever Oratorio to be written by a German composer.
