Album US 2018 on Noise from the Underground label
Electronic (Experimental)
Originally conceived to be a series of releases on cassette to include a breadboard, components, battery, and schematic, for the listener to build and record on a circuit of their own; the constraints of space did not allow for the full realization of the project (yet). This collection is a group of pieces taken from those experiments, all constructed and performed on breadboards, notably using and feeding back various IC chips as the source of sound material. Other elements were introduced to enhance the circuit environment, such as Arduino boards and FM transmitters; and building numerous duplicates and multiple ins and outs to maximize the space and sound. Performances were either automatic in nature, or were done by manually shifting components, connecting points with jumpers, or using fingers to close parts of a circuit for effect. Most of the recordings here were done live, straight to tape with no post-production editing. https://danielsteffey.bandcamp.com/album/open-circuits
