Dan Waldis, composer, arranger, pianist, began studying piano at age 7. He attended the University of Utah, under the mentorship of Dr. William Fowler and performing under the direction of Ladd Macintosh. Dan has performed with Bobby McFerrin, Wynton Marsalis, Brandon Fields, Freddie Hubbard and more. You can hear Dan on “When I Look At You” (Joey DeFrancesco), “The Grand Inquisitor” and “Uphill...Both Ways” (Greg Floor), “Beat the Rats” (Jay Lawrence). Dan’s CD “A Little Jazz With Your Mistletoe” was recorded live at the 2006 Music-In-The-Box concert. 2013 marked the tenth year of his series of the same name at the Rose Wagner Center For The Performing Arts. He shares his love of music by teaching Jazz piano at the University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College.
