From 1991 Promo Release text: Dann's career began in his teens playing on a local radio station, singing ballads taught to him by his father who played a guitar and sang with his eight children. Dann began playing clubs and shows and at the outdoor music park. "Lake Compounce". He played with the "Cowboy Caravan" and sang many of the country ballads as his specialty. He entertained in the New England area with is seven-piece house band; played back up music for many famous Nashville artists including Willie Nelson, Ray Price, Elton Britt and the Browns, which enhanced his desire to continue to play music professionally. While touring with the band of "Claude Gray and the Greymen" he performed in Texas, the Midwest and Florida. Throughout his career, his versatility led him to stage performance, conducting his own band, making commercials, broadcast videos, as well as being an accomplished vocalist. After graduation from Hartford University with honors in electronics, he continued playing music and singing while he worked in the electronics field. His profession took him to Florida where he was booked at many night spots and country clubs entertaining in the categories of MOR, country and pop. He continued his music education at a Florida College where he studied Piano and Music theory with Dr. Illena Fernandez. In the fall of 1987 he was invited to sing at the 16th international Steel Guitar Convention in St. Louis, Missouri, with well know steel guitarist and producer Jimmie L. Crawford and the "Steel Guitars of Europe", which was composed of Koos Biel (Holland), Andre Sommers (Holland), Niles Tuxen (West Germany/Denmark), and Gerry Hogan (England). He recorded some of his own compositions while in New England and has continued to write and record his original songs on 45's, albums, and cassettes. In addition to his own selections he recorded other original songs while in Nashville. A single, "Somebody's Rockin' Gibraltar" was charted on the National Charts Top 100 and Cashbox Country Single Chart. "Walking Through My Dreams" also made the top 100 chart and was the 1 Pick Hits for three weeks and moved to #1 for two weeks on a Portsmouth, Ohio radio station WPAY. The Dreams of Love album, released in 1988, includes both of the above singles and standards by Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Nat King Cole and others. Due to Dann's striking likeness of Roy Orbison in both looks and voice, he has recorded a new album soon to be released titled "Dan Garner Sings Roy Orbison" for the US and European Distribution. He has recently been featured on the cover of Britain's top-selling Country Music Newspaper, "International Country Music News", published in Derby, England, and is being featured on forthcoming tours in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. He recently completed a 30-day contract in Copenhagen, Denmark, singing "A Tribute to Roy Orbison". His recent song "Rainy Night in Copenhagen" was inspired while performing in Denmark.
