Composer / Songwriter of Spoken Word
US multi-talented composer, musician, radio broadcaster and hypnosis therapy pioneer (1900–1967). In music he's mainly known for co-writing "Atlanta Blues (Make Me One Pallet On Your Floor)" with W.C. Handy. Late in his life he wrote books on and coached hypnosis. The audio recordings of the classes are considered classics in medical hypnosis. It was students of his that carried out the first hypnosis to replace ordinary anesthesia during a heart operation.
