Dave King is an English artist and musician, born in 1948, moved to New York City in 1977 and later to San Francisco where he still resides and works as a graphic designer, he is the known for creating the Crass logo, at the request of Penny Rimbaud, which he had met in art school in the mid sixties along with Gee Vaucher, Rimbaud asked him to design something that expressed “fascism of the church, the state and of the family”, the logo was influenced by Penny's piece "Christ's Reality Asylum" which later morphed into "Reality Asylum", Crass first single, he as also done a logo for the San Francisco label Broken Rekids. As a musician one of Dave's first bands was New York City punk group Arsenal, then in San Francisco played with Sleeping Dogs and Brain Rust.
