Conifer Classics CD reissue of a 1992 digital premiere recording by The Royal Liverpool Orchestra, conducted by William Connor, of three separate pieces composed by Dave Roylance with Bob Galvin, all inspired by the Grand Regatta Columbus `92 Tall Ships Race -- the pieces "The Tall Ships Suite" and "The Grand Parade Of Sail" were commissioned by the organizers of the event, while "Ocean Fantasia" was conceived independently, but directly inspired by work on the former. The packaging features an eight-page booklet, with liner notes by Julian Kronfli, a brief note from Nigel Green (5), the chairman of the Tall Ships Committee, and reproductions of two specially commissioned paintings by Edward Walker (3): "The Arrival of the Tall Ships," and "The Great Tea Race of 1872" on the interior pages, and color front and back covers, both also featuring an additional reproduction of a commissioned painting by Walker (3): "Race Fever" on the former, and "Leaving Liverpool" on the latter. (The name "Bob Galvin" is misspelled on the CD label, and the entry for Sonopress USA indicates that the glass master for this particular release was created in 1994, based upon matrix information.)
