A.k.a. David Lee Aerni Jack Irvin
Aerni was part of the circle of friends and musicians who, along with people like Bob Guy, occupied Paul Buff's Pal Recording Studio in the 60s. He was involved in, or featured, at many surf sound recordings that were proved so popular at the unlikely desert location of the studio in Cucamonga. Aerni was also involved in early recordings with Frank Zappa, who spent much time at PAL and eventually acquired the studio to create Studio Z. Dave also managed a band called The Tornadoes who had a top 30 record called "Bustin' Surfboards"
