Dave Carpenter (November 4, 1959 – June 24, 2008) was an American bass player.After studying music at Ohio State University, he launched his professional career by moving to New York. It was there that he first toured and recorded with artists such as Buddy Rich, Woody Herman and Maynard Ferguson.Carpenter died suddenly of a heart attack at age 48.
