Jamaican deejay and singer born 1948 in Kingston. He started his singing career in the group Two Tones with his two friends Brenton Matthews and Fathead. Barker then sang for a short while with The Techniques alongside Winston Riley and Bruce Ruffin before forming the duo Glen & Dave together with Glen Brown. In 1969 Dave Barker went solo for the producer Lee Perry and had major success. In 1971 Dave teamed up with keyboard player Ansel Collins making the duo Dave & Ansel Collins. In the 1970's, he went to UK and recorded with soul and funk groups.
