A.k.a. David Vittetoe
David Vittetoe is a percussionist with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, Scott AFB, Illinois. Sergeant Vittetoe was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He studied percussion at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He finished his degree from Liberty University, Virginia and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Multi-Disciplinary Studies. Sergeant Vittetoe entered the Air Force in May 1994 as a member of the 572 Air National Guard Band of the Smokey Mountains. He joined the active duty Air Force in January of 1998 when he was assigned to the USAF Heritage of America Band at Langley AFB, VA where he was a featured percussion soloist. In January of 2000 he was then assigned to the USAF Heartland of America Band at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. There he was featured twice as soloist with the Concert Band and the drummer for popular music ensembles "Night Wing" and "Looking Glass". In July 2005 Sergeant Vittetoe was assigned to the USAF Band of the Pacific - Hawaii as drummer for the popular music group "Hana Hou". In July 2008 Sergeant Vittetoe was assigned to the Band of the USAF Reserve, Robins AFB, GA. There he performed with the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pipe Band and drummer with the popular music group "High Flight". In July 2013 he began his current assignment with the USAF Band of Mid America where has performed with the concert band, Starlifter and Roots in Blue. Sergeant Vittetoe also plays bagpipes for ceremonial functions in addition to his percussion duties. Master Sergeant Vittetoe's professional credits include work with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Oak Ridge Symphony, Omaha Community Playhouse and St. Louis Wind Symphony. He also performed with the Knoxville Pipes and Drums. He has performed with such artists as Winona Judd, Take Six, Amy Grant, Little Big Town, Leanne Womack and Diamond Rio.
