David Cavanaugh, also known as Dave Cavanaugh or occasionally Big Dave Cavanaugh. b. March 13, 1919 - St. Paul, Minnesota d. December 31, 1981 - Tarzana, California American composer, arranger, musician, and producer. Worked as a session tenor saxophonist, and later, as a director of A&R, producer, and president of Capitol Records. Died of post-surgery heart complications. Responsible for the rerecording & reissue of the TIME-LIFE series The Swing Era (15 Volumes with 3 LPs each box) together with Bill Miller
