Producer
American producer, sound archivist and writer, born December 16, 1916 in New Rochelle, New York. Under his leadership as classic music director in the 1950s, and in collaboration with producer couple Wilma Cozart and Robert Fine, the Mercury Living Presence classical recordings were created. Hall went on to internationally teach advanced recording techniques, and became music editor of HiFi / Stereo Review (later Stereo Review). Since 1963 he was president of Composers Recordings Inc. (CRI), and since 1967 curator of the Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound. He received the ARSC Award for Distinguished Service to Historical Recordings in 2002.
