Born Heroes (Instrumental: Inspired by a concept brought to my attention by Joseph Campbell Crystal Desire: I assume, since we now have a president from Arkansas, it's ok for me to admit that i spent a good portion of my childhood in the ozark mountains. This song is a reminisence of those days with no phone, T.V. or even a bathroom. I didn't realize that i had it so good. The you in the song is me, of course. Castle Gate: My friend Van and i spent a day following these protected pathways near Glastonbury, England. Where they cross one another is said to be a power point and we went all out to get inside the whole story and concept behind the place. It was truly a magical day and one i'll never forget. Lilac Night (Instrumental): A summer's night in Massachusetts: the scent of lilacs and young romance. Like Little Girls Do (Instrumental): Anyone with a daughter will know what this song is about. Solid Friends: Listening to some old Beatles' recordings: George Martin's arrangements were often to simple, but sound completely orchestrated. I had to try it! Maintain On The Road: I wrote this in one of my many journeys into the unknown, probably in the back of a bus on route 80 somewhere. It's Van Morrison's favorite song of mine (actually, there's a version laying around somewhere with Van playing sax on it!) so i had to include it. Love Deep Within (Instrumental): If It All Comes True: This is my first collaboration with Southside and i hope it's not the last. Don't be alarmed, it's just Jukes passing through. Mana-Mask (Instrumental): Inspired by a concept brought to my attention by Joseph Campbell. Through The Fallen Mist: This song is about an actual church in Dublin which does contain the organ that Handel used for his first performance of the "Messiah". Below the church, in the catacombs, is a mummified Crusader, minus a foot. I was shown all of this by an old caretaker, complete with bad posture and lantern. We Call It Love: Thanks to lain Matthews for these lyrics. I think that the phrase "Bebopalula she's mine" nails the act of possessiveness right down where it should be.
