David Horne (b. 1970) is a Scottish composer, pianist and lecturer at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Horne received his bachelor's of music degree at the Curtis Institute of Music and Ph.D. at Harvard University. He was a composer in residence with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2000–2004. His music is published by Boosey & Hawkes. Horne's compositions had been performed by major orchestras in the UK and abroad, including BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Hallé Orchestra, London Sinfonietta and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. David Horne also commissioned works for The Nash Ensemble, Scottish Ensemble, The Boston Musica Viva, Ensemble Modern, Nieuw Ensemble, Remix Ensemble, The California E.A.R. Unit, Ensemble Für Neue Musik Zürich, The Yggdrasil Quartet, Daedalus String Quartet and Brentano String Quartet, as well as solo pieces for Boris Berezovsky, Evelyn Glennie, Nobuko Imai and Fred Sherry.
