David Lumsdaine (b. 1931) is an Australian composer. He studied at The University Of Sydney and Sydney Conservatorium Of Music. In 1953, Lumsdaine moved to England to become a student of Mátyás Seiber. He had been working as a freelance composer, conductor, teacher and music editor in the UK ever since. David retired from academia in 1993 and stopped composing in 1997. He is married to the composer Nicola LeFanu.
