Album US 2010 on New World Records label
Classical (Contemporary)
It is probably safe to say that the seven pieces on this CD, which span a period of thirty-five years, primarily reveal the more serious and lyrical side of the David Mahler musical coin. And though three of the pieces include voice, this collection also focuses on Mahler’s ongoing exploration of his own instrument: the piano. The closing work, Only Music Can Save Me Now, is one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of classical minimalism.
