Tracks 1,2,and 7 were originally released, along with a standard, on audio cassette Nondo DPLP009, and performed by all nine musicians. Tracks 3,4, 5 and 6, comprising the January Suite and performed by a quartet of Panton, Parkinson, Adams and Phillips, have not been previously released The whole concert was recorded live at Aston University Centre for the Arts in Birmingham on 26 January 1980. The musicians: David Panton - alto saxophone, piano, percussion; Jan Steele - flute, alto saxophone; Bob Jackson - tenor saxophone, clarinet, percussion; Terry Parkinson - trumpet, flugel horn; Janet Sherbourne - piano, voice, percussion; Anthony Pither - piano, percussion; John Adams - guitar, percussion; Nigel Phillips - bass guitar, trombone; Bob Wilson - drums. All compositions by David Panton published by D & ED Panton Music.
