Born: 1960, New Zealand. In the 80s, Watson co-founded Braille Records to contribute to the experimental music scene in New Zealand. He organized the improvisation festival Off the Deep End in 1984 and 1985. In 1987, Watson moved to New York City and was involved with the experimental scene there. Regular collaborators include John Zorn, Lee Ranaldo, Christian Marclay, Rhys Chatham, Jonathan Kane and Zeena Parkins. Watson is originally a guitairst, but also performs bagpipes.
