Tenor saxophonist Dave Woodward was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia and joined the Powder Blues at the band's outset in the spring of 1978. Previous to his involvement with Powder Blues, he found commercial success appearing and performing for many years with the Downchild Blues Band of Toronto.
