Amongst hardcore Davy Jones/Monkee fans, INCREDIBLE has assumed mythical status. Musician and journalist Christopher L. Pick echoes the thoughts of many fans when he says, “INCREDIBLE is the album of his career.” INCREDIBLE deserves recognition as a work that doesn’t hide in the shadow of other victories. It nods to The Monkees in a few places, but David sets his own rules for musical accessibility, diversity, and innovation. All Jones did was keep the faith and record a solid album. 2010: This special download edition includes five bonus tracks from 1986-89: The "ukulele version" of "Manchester Boy," both sides of the "Don't Go" single, and alternate takes from the sessions. Musicians include Davy Jones, members of The Grass Roots, members of The Monkees' touring band, and Mark Clarke. Produced and arranged under the supervision of David Jones. Co-produced by Mark Clarke, Joe Hardy and Robert Merrill. Recorded between February 1986 and July 1987 at Ardent/Memphis TN, Globe Studio/Sydney AUSTRALIA, Longview Farm/N. Brookfield MA, Luxury Audio Workshop/Las Vegas NV and Record Plant/New York NY. Originally released by Dome Press/Hardor Incorporated in 1988 (SS 8091). Reissued as a download album (on Jones's bandcamp page) with significant bonus material in 2011.
