De Praatpalen are a unique combination of three of Holland's most influential people in the music business, Producer/rocksinger Peter Koelewijn (who worked under many names, apart from his own solo career and Peter & his Rockets ever since 1959), producer Freddy Haayen (especially famous for working a long time with the Golden Earring(s), Bojoura and many other Dutch artists) and Holland's most influential music publisher Willem van Kooten, who sharted his career as the most important disc-jockey in Holland in the early 60's up to the 70's with Pirateship Veronica. It wasn't the first time they combined forces. They made a recording as a trio again in late 1969 using the name Zoef Zoef en de Beevers and once more in 1970 using the name the Freddies (After Freddy Haayen).
