Formed in 1997 in Southern California with Christopher Crisci and Aaron Pillar joining bassist Jason Wickersheim and drummer Louie Ruiz under the name December's Tragic Drive (derived from lyrics of the song, "Seven" by Sunny Day Real Estate). The band only recording a handful of tracks prior to changing their name to The Appleseed Cast in 1998, then relocating to North Carolina and Lawrence, Kansas, respectively.
