A.k.a. Violence (7)
Formed in Cleveland in mid 1985 under the name VIOLENCE and was one of Ohio's early thrash bands. Released their first demo, "Condemned" in 1987 before changing their name to Decimation in late spring 1988 and releasing three more demos ("Armed To The Teeth", "The Dark Embrace" & "Rat Race") before splitting up due to internal conflicts. In 1988 original singer/guitarist Jeff Charest split with the band. After Decimation guitarist Joe Mariani heard Parma crossover legends Domestic Crisis on their demo "DC-10" the members of Decimation recruited vocalist Jim Lippucci and guitarist Dan Goodrich in 1989 and they would stay until the bands early 90s dissolution due to musical differences. After the split Dan, Doug and Mark formed the Hard Rock/Surf Rock band Scissor (4) and released 2 tapes (1994 and 1995). Though not one of Cleveland's best known bands, Decimation holds a place in Cleveland metal history as one of the town's first and true thrash bands!
