Single UK 2005 on Timecode label
Dance (Drum’n’Bass)
Decoy: Here is the press release for TC002 (finally!) for your regard... TIMECODE RECORDINGS 002 :slayer: Born out of the club event, new Bristol record label Timecode Recordings hit the shops back in October 2004 with DECOY’s heavy debut “INSANE”/ “WINDRUSH”. Finally, (after some delay!), Timecode Recordings 002 is on it’s way – “ILL MUSIC” / “SPACE DUB” will be available November 2005. On the quest to deliver all things heavy and rolling, disregarding such petty things as bpm, Timecode Recordings step forth with a mixed breaks and drum n bass release. VERTICAL SOUND’s OCTOBER teams up with DECOY for the raw n slamming breaks A side. Phat n dirty rude bass, a cheeky infectious synth line and rugged rolling breaks make “ILL MUSIC” a certified dance floor stomper! Keeping in touch with Timecode’s roots, DECOY goes it alone on the drum n bass AA side with “DUB OUNCE”. Getting things truly rolling with raw breaks, sub-dub bouncing bass line and mad effects, this skanker has been confined to dub-plate for too long! One of the original TIMECODE residents, OCTOBER has been building a solid reputation for himself on the breaks scene since dropping a certain cheeky sell-out bootleg in the summer of 2003. He followed up with smasher 'The Wind Up' on Berlin's infamous Dangerous Drums imprint, and his heavily spun rerub of 30Hz's 'Temple'. Other big OCTOBER releases include the party screamer remix of 30Hz's 'The Swamp' (Drum & Breaks); 'Dub Junglism', and an absolutely sick remix of 'Phonque' by Berlin beat-master, Circuit Breaker. Founder of the critically acclaimed event and the label, DECOY is a relatively new producer on the scene. However he has been around rocking clubs on the decks for over 6 years. With gigs in France and Chile, as well as regular appearances in home town Bristol and around the south-west, DECOY has played along side almost every big name in drum n bass. Taking to the studio 4 years ago, he now spins many of his own dub plates, and released the successful “INSANE/WINDRUSH” last year. Big up Hijack!
