Dei Lewison is from the neighborhood of Ditmas Park in Brooklyn, New York. As a native New Yorker, she has had the privilege of knowing many vibrant artists, including her parents American disco, funk, r’n’b musician Woody Cunningham and a former model and modern dancer from the sunny, warm island of Trinidad. With the guidance of her parents, her love of art, fashion, freeform and structured music developed from an early age. She studied West African dance and piano as a child and is also a graduate of Music and Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan where she studied vocal music, music theory, and guitar. As a vocalist, Dei has worked with Metro Area, Neurotic Drum Band, Brennan Green, Daniel Wang and Kassette. As a DJ, her love of music and art has taken her to Paris, Berlin, London, Port-of-Spain, Freibourg, Montreal, Chicago, Miami, Geneva, etc.
