Dee Hannan, is a singer and laouto player who features on all Xylouris Ensemble albums. She learnt traditional Irish music and dance in Ireland, and, in Melbourne, harpsichord with Elizabeth Anderson, and laouto with Giorgos Xylouris. Blessed with a voice clear as a bell, and fluent in Greek, she has sung and co-written songs for many Australian groups in different styles, including Irish, alternative rock and swing. She is a multimedia artist and web producer for the ABC, and co-creator of the award-winning Winged Sandals, an interactive website drawing on Greek myth. She was assistant musical director on Rachael Perkins’ One Night the Moon (AFI award 2002).
