Band,
Alternative and Rock
A pop-punk trio formed in the Cleveland Suburb of Berea in 1997. Fronted by twin brothers Austin and Ryan Eilbeck. Drums maintained by long time best friend Jesse Wither (Hot Iron, All Dogs). The members of Delay attended elementary school, middle school, high school and college together. Later records see the band maturing, blending power-pop, slacker rock and indie punk. Lyrics take a turn for a more introspective weighing of personal experience and emotion. The sound is often raw and unguarded. The band played an integral role in the Columbus DIY punk scene performing and booking shows from 2004-2015. The band celebrated 20 years as an active band with three Ohio shows in December of 2017, having played at least once as Delay since 1997. The band is currently inactive. Members are still writing for the group, though few signs point to new recorded material or tour plans.
