Demander is a post-sexy! post-punk! post-gregorian/ambrosian! trio from New York City! Demander is a trio from New York City that flaunts a strong, stripped down blues-punk that has been called "publicly poppy but secretly proggy". Featured on SPIN.com and recently up for Band of the Year, the group is set to record a full length this summer with producer Mike Skinner (Black Moustache, The Fatales) in Brooklyn. With a quirky rhythm section and a melody-driven veneer, the trio sounds at times like the musical heirs to Fugazi's punk prowess and Tom Waits' dark alley rock; or the strange love child of PJ Harvey and Ted Leo. It's a happy hardcore that explodes live -- fierce playing, unbridled joy and good hooks for sing-alongs.
