English conductor, composer and author (1912-1987). Was deputy to Sir Thomas Beecham with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and music director of the Ballets de Monte Carlo. Specialised in Ancient Egyptian music and dance from 1965, and founded the Nefer Ensemble in 1969 to provide music for the Ancient Egyptian Dance Group.
