Born in Mauritius, Denny Lalouette emigrated to Durban, South Africa in 1970. He started learning guitar and drums before finally settling on bass guitar and is considered to be South Africa's leading bass player, appearing on some 2000 recordings. Mr. Lalouette also runs the Black Box Studios in Johannesburg while his eldest daughter, Véronique Lalouette, is an accomplished singer.
