Band,
Soundtrack and Electronic
Richard Denton (guitar, keyboards), and Martin Cook (guitar, keyboards) were both orchestra leaders who teamed up in the late 70s to compose and produce theme and incidental music for BBC Television serials and documentaries, most notably for ‘The Theme From Hong Kong Beat’, a series examining the Hong Kong Police Force which, when aired in 1978, topped the ratings and pushed the programme’s theme into the UK singles chart. After this success they went on to produce themes for Diamonds In The Sky, The Great Egg Race and in 1980 a new electronic opening for the long-running science series Tomorrow’s World.
