Denzil's career spanned more than 30 years with the BBC in the UK, until his retirement in 2010, beginning at BBC Radio Stoke in 1980. He then moved on to jobs with BBC Northampton, BBC WM in Birmingham and BBC Hereford and Worcester, where he was deputy editor. He became BBC Jersey editor in 1998 and had been responsible for all of the BBC's output.
