Derek 'DJA' Allen is a music producer, sound designer & DJ in Los Angeles. Derek Allen has been making music since a teenager, eventually relocating to Philadelphia to work with Diplo and Mad Decent as a producer and engineer. Credits include co-writing and production on Lil Wayne's "Two Shots", from The Carter IV, Major Lazer's "Lazer Theme" and "Come On" with Diplo and Tiesto; as well as engineering and production on the MIA LPs Kala and MAYA; Robyn’s Body Talk; Major Lazer’s Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazers Do and Mates of State's Mountaintops. While working on these projects, he's produced an endless stream of remixes for artists like Rusko, Passion Pit, Diplo, Santigold, Mansions On The Moon, Amanda Blank, Black Gold, of Montreal, 3OH!3, and countless others. In the summer of 2011 he released his first self produced solo record, the DJA EP on Mad Decent records. His 80's movie music themed "Blood Bros" mixtapes (produced with Dirty South Joe) have over 50,000 streams and have been downloaded over 25,000 times, as well as being featured by Cracked, Marvel, and other mainstream blogs. Derek also has a long list of commercial credits including DJ Hero 2, Forum Snowboards, Burotn Snowboards, Special Blend, Foursquare Outerwear, EA Sports NBA 2k9, Turkcell, General Motors and many others.
