Born: 1 January 1923, Launceston, Tasmania . Died: 2 May 1980, Hobart,Tasmania. Began performing professionally at Age 12 . On his 14th Birthday he first performed on Radio 7LA 's (Launceston) Boys Club Program, beginning a weekly program which ran for three years. Joined the Navy in WWII. After the war his program on 7LA was reinstated for another two years. IN 1948 won the first ever Tasmanian presentation of Australian Amateur Hour and offered a spot the Frank McFarland's touring Wild West Show, billed as "Tasmania's Own Hillbilly". Settled in Melbourne where he appeared on all the major Radio Shows. Made his first recording of Six in Melbourne in 1954 for Spotlight Records, Astor Records acquired Spotlight and re-released his second and third LPs on the Astor Label as EPs. He moved to Hobart in 1972 and recorded two LPs for Candle Records in 1978.
