American jazz saxophonist, conductor and bandleader. Born : May 29, 1909 in Newark, New Jersey. Died : September 18, 1980 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dick played with the "Ben Bernie's Orchestra" (1928-) and from 1935 with own his band (with vocalist such as Bunny Berigan, Paula Kelly, Burt Shaw and Gracie Barrie), he worked also with Jimmy Dorsey and Vincent Lopez, Lee Castle.
