Peter Lauch is a German Schlager-singer who became famous in the 60s together with Die Regenpfeifer and their mutual provocative songwriting. His real name is Horst Christ. Peter Lauch and the Regenpfeifer belongs to a group of German songwriters. Though active in the 60s they were actually producing music in the tradition of the 20s and early 30s, moreover flippant songs that made them famous in the German-speaking countries. Die Regenpfeifer hit the Charts for the 1st time in 1961, later on in 1962 as Peter Lauch & die Regenpfeifer. Their songs contain a clear ambiguous and critical note. With the song "Das kommt vom Rudern, das kommt vom Segeln" they caused such an uproar that only after a two weeks time, it already lead the German Charts.
