Hailing from Santiago, the saxophonist, clarinetist and composer has carved out a niche for himself at the forefront of Chile’s jazz and experimental music scenes. Manuschevich has long created music deeply rooted in the bop, post-bop and early free jazz traditions, while developing his own abstract, dense and complex musical lexicon. Nine of Manuschevich‘s original compositions are featured on his newest record, The Calling, a highly orchestrated tour de force of dizzying, unpredictable melodies and ornate arrangements.
