“Parween Sultana, born 1950, was initially trained by her father, late Janab Ikramal Majid, of Assam. Following that she underwent a rigorous training by the late Chinmoy Lahiri of Calcutta and from 1974 by her husband Ustad Dilshad Khan. He, born 1942, had so eminent teachers as Pandit N.C. Chakravorty, Pandit Nidan Banerjee, Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, Ustad Fayyaz Ahmed Khan and Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan.” Prize of the German Record Critics (Three-month-list).
